Imaginative Play
We are building a pre-school property that measures success by how quickly a child puts the screen down: a slow, musical animated series, picture books and an ethical toy ecosystem that hand children back to their own imagination.

Children's screens are built to be watched, not left
Pre-school content is measured the way all streaming content is measured: by watch time. Fast cuts, loud cues and autoplay keep small children in front of the screen long after the story has ended, and parents are left managing the fallout.
Nothing in that model is designed to end. We wanted to build a property that is, where the show is a bridge back to the room the child is sitting in, and the toys and books are what they reach for when it fades out.
Design the exit into the show
Every part of Flo, from pacing to merchandise, is shaped by one measure: how fast a child drops the screen and enters their own flow state of imaginative play.
A calmer kind of series
Slow visual pacing, a non-verbal protagonist and music instead of dialogue. The signature cue, “Ready, Steady, Flo!”, is the moment the episode invites the child to leave the screen and play.
Books and an ethical toy ecosystem
Picture books and a small, deliberately open-ended toy range extend each episode into the real world, so the play the show starts has somewhere to go.
Distribution that suits the audience
YouTube Kids for the series, audio channels for bedtime, and books and retail for the tangible ecosystem, each chosen so parents stay in control of the screen.
Soft by design
Flo's identity follows the show's temperament: rounded forms, a restrained palette and a wordmark that reads to a parent as calm before it reads as clever. The character is the brand, and the character never raises its voice.

Success is measured after the screen goes dark
Flo is not measured by binge-watching. The measure is how quickly children drop the screen, pick up their real-world toys and enter their own deep flow state of play. That single metric shaped the episode length, the cue, the books and the toys.
Flo is the debut series of Imaginative Play, the media company we are building around one mission: turning passive screen time back into real-world play. Original characters, shows and an ethical toy ecosystem, designed to spark imagination rather than hold attention.
Flo is one of the ventures we build ourselves, under our Code of Ethics. It is in development, with the series, the first books and the toy range moving together.
